PROCESS CiCESS Children in Care Education Support Service ~ Championing educational achievement and rights ~ PROCESS FOR APPLYING FOR CHILDREN IN CARE INCLUSION SUPPORT FUND 1 School alerts CiCESS as soon as possible 2 Member of CiCESS visits the school to: Assess the level of need for additional funding, using proforma checklist Consider the impact of action already taken by the school, including the potential use of the school’s existing resources • • 3 • • If the need is judged to warrant CIC Inclusion Support Funding Member of CiCESS agrees outline programme of action with Start date, End date, recommended number of hours and completes Application form Member of CiCESS ensures the Checklist is completed and appropriate plans / details are included with the application 4 Application Form / Checklist and evidence sent to CiCESS Education Officer for processing 5 Application is considered by VHT / Education Officers • • 6 • • • • 7 • Criteria Full documentation plus evidence of the school’s current intervention and its impact No shortcut referrals will be considered unless exceptional circumstances If Application is approved: Letter or email to school / finance / file Spreadsheet updated CiCESS contacts the school and checks intervention is underway At the end of the period of intervention, CiCESS assesses the impact and, if further funding is requested, then a new strategy must be drawn up as ‘more of the same’ will not do.
