Tutoring at
Explore Learning centres provide maths and
English tuition to children aged 5 to 14.
Explore is for children of all abilities, and is
designed to improve knowledge, confidence
and enthusiasm for learning.
We help children to make fantastic
academic progress and the vibrant
atmosphere keeps them engaged and
focused, enabling them to have fun while
they learn.
Children become members and attend
regularly once or twice a week. Since we
opened our first centre in 2001, over 60,000
children across the UK have joined Explore.
The key to our success is our excellent
staff who know how to get the best out of
children and bring their learning to life.
Fantastic
staff Each centre is run by 3 full-time
managers with a dedicated
team of part-time Tutors.
Explore staff are passionate and inspiring
people who are great communicators and
fantastic role models. They are naturally able
to build rapport with children and generate
a positive, fun and exciting atmosphere in
which learning can thrive.
Our

to work in a close knit friendly
team. Teamwork is integral to how the
centres operate and all of our staff support
one another in the running of the centre.
Training
As a Tutor, you will receive
extensive training in many
areas, including the National
Curriculum and teaching methods. In
addition to regular group training sessions,
you will also receive continuous mentoring
on the job.
The
Tutor
Role
As part of our team you
will be representing Explore
Learning and actively
involved in teaching and
mentoring the children who attend our
centres. You will help to monitor their
academic and social progress and help to
provide feedback for their parents.
Our low ratios mean that you will be working
with 6 children at any time, providing them
with support and encouragement as well as
working closely with the centre managers
to ensure that the curriculum is tailored
correctly for each child.
You’ll be a great role model for our children
and help to create a vibrant,
positive atmosphere
that is enjoyable
for everyone.

“Throughout my time at Explore I have
thoroughly enjoyed helping children of
various ages and abilities to both realise
and unlock their potential, as well as being
given continual training opportunities to
progress my knowledge further.
I feel the most rewarding part of my role has
been the continual building and sustaining
of close bonds with the children and I feel
privileged to have been given the chance to
make a difference to a child’s academic and
social progress. I have thrived during my
time as a tutor and I love that every shift
is different.”
• Flexible shifts (at least 3 shifts per
Benefits week depending on the needs of the
centre).
• Good rates of pay and holiday pay.
• Regular structured training, appraisals and
further development opportunities.
• Incredible experience helping you to have a
truly unique CV with great employability skills.
• Referral bonus for recommending friends to
the role.
• For ambitious and outstanding tutors there
is the opportunity for further

“I have always known that I want to work
with children. While I was studying for my
GCSEs I coached at a local tennis club and
have been a leader at my old Scout Group.
When I started my A Levels I really wanted
to find something that would give me great
experience to go on and become a teacher,
which is my ultimate goal.
Being a Tutor at Explore is incredibly
rewarding and gives me a much higher
level of responsibility than many other part
time roles would have given me. I work
with children of all ages and abilities and
this has helped me to decide that I want to
specialise in primary education. All of the
experience I am getting will look great on
my CV and shows how committed I am and
what a strong team player I can be.”

Requirements
We need passionate people who want to make a difference to children.
We require strong GCSE (or equivalent) grades in maths and English
and some experience of having contact with children in this age range
previously.
Although you need to be confident tutoring children aged 5 to14 in
maths and English you don’t need to have specialised in either of these
subjects or be a qualified teacher.
We recruit continuously as and when vacancies arise in our new or existing
centres. If you think you have just found an exciting opportunity please
send a covering letter along with your up to date CV to your chosen centre
(email is preferred). Contact details for all centres can be found at
www.explorelearning.co.uk/find_your_centre.
