create a report. For this part you will turn in:
 Research notes (provided in this packet)
 Rough draft (that will then be peer edited)
 Final draft with title page, visuals for each section, and bibliography
Part 3- Media Presentation of a Colony

Using the information you researched for your colony, select one activity depicting the
everyday life of the colony. It should include all aspects covered in your Part 2 report. Some
example projects are:

3) Create a PowerPoint Presentation

Part 2- Informational Report
Objective:
The task is to identify and make discoveries of the 13 Original Colonies. You will uncover this
information through your research. Your final report will include:
 Identify your chosen original colony
 Discuss the founders of the colony and the year it was founded
 Describe the reasons the colony was originally established.
- Who were the original settlers? (French, British, Spanish, etc.)
- Why did they leave their homeland for the New World? (religious freedom,
political freedom, etc.)
 Economical & Geographical characteristics
 Describe the culture and values
 Other important facts discovered

Create a rough draft of your report, including an introduction and conclusion.
Conduct at least one peer edit.
Conference with teacher.
