Excused absences - students have the same number of class days missed to complete work and the work will be due the class meeting following. This is per MHS policy as stated in the Student Handbook.

Computer Lab Use Agreement 2015-2016 – Mrs. Karen Hill

In order for the computer systems in our labs to work at an optimum level to complete assignments in Technology

Applications classes, each student will abide by the following guidelines as well as district computer policy. Failure to do so will result in parent contact and disciplinary action under "unauthorized use of computers."

Students will sit in assigned seats and be held responsible for equipment and furniture at their workstation. Each time students enter the computer lab, they should inspect their systems for missing, defective, or damaged items. If anything is missing or damaged, students should immediately report the item to the teacher at the beginning of the period to avoid being held accountable for its expense.

Follow all MISD and Montgomery High School rules. Food and beverages are not permitted! The only exception to this rule is a note from the school nurse. If you are found with food or beverages in the lab, you will be asked to dispose of it immediately.

No personal grooming activities will be allowed at computer stations.

Each student will have assigned and appropriately use: seat/workstation, username, password and file storage locations.

Students will store files/folders in their network storage location identified by and accessed through the “My

Computer” icon upon login; student files will be stored in only this location. (Student drives)

Students are prohibited from accessing other students’ work; this will be considered cheating as defined by the

MISD Student Code of Conduct.

Personal files/folders will be removed from the system; the Montgomery High School network and computers are for school-related work only.

USB flash drives and portable hard drives are allowed for saving files created in class, but if a drive is used on a lab computer it CANNOT contain license-protected audio files (such as "ripped" or purchased MP3s or AAC files), licenseprotected video files (such as recorded or purchased videos of television programs), or any executable files with a .exe extension (including software install files). If such a file is found by or brought to the attention of the teacher, the device it is saved on will be confiscated.

Personal “player/listening” devices, headphones, etc. will not be allowed.

 All users will work through a proper log-in/log-out procedure, closing all files, folders, programs, etc. prior to leaving the room.

 Absolutely no materials should leave the classroom without written permission from the teacher.

Internet Rules:

 The Internet will be turned off except for special projects and as needed for class work.

 The Internet will be used for school work only , not for playing games .

 Unauthorized web publishing, instant messaging, blogging and use of email are prohibited.

 Going to or attempting to go to Internet locations or Web sites that are inappropriate, such as game sites or sites blocked by the MISD web filter, is prohibited.

It is the policy of Montgomery ISD not to discriminate on the basis of races, color, national origin, sex or handicap in its vocational programs, services or activities as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.
