has launched its Trim Manufacturing Quality Program (TMQP) to address these very issues. Component
parts of a product are those parts which are assembled with the product to make it complete & ready to
use. These can be tested separately from the product, for eg – buttons, snaps, zippers also includes wet
paints, spray sampling, multi sampling used. By moving trim testing further upstream, failures can be
corrected before final production, reducing the risk of recalls / non-compliance and saving time and cost.
This initiative involves educating the trim suppliers and vendors to build awareness of CPSIA (Consumer
Product Safety Improvement Act) regulations, CPSC testing and certification rules.
