If you are not running/walking in the Monument Avenue 10K this year, put on your best red, white, and blue, and cheer for our Team Henrico runners on Saturday, April 9. The County is having a Spirit Team of coworkers, family, and friends, who will have a reserved cheer section located on the race course. The Spirit Team location will be tented (in case of rain) and promises great views of the race course and race participants. This year’s Spirit Team theme is American Pride. Don your best, worst, funniest, patriotic, red/white/blue garb and join in the fun. We want the biggest and loudest cheer section on Monument Avenue, so save the date and spread the word! Team Henrico employees celebrating their finish in the 2013 Monument Avenue 10K This local race, named one of the best race events in the country by USA Today, is Richmond’s premiere block party. You’re guaranteed to be entertained by world class runners, costumes, live music, and the beautiful spring foliage along Monument Avenue, the only street in America listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Event day flags, pompoms, noise makers, and snacks will be provided by the Fitness & Wellness Division. Please consider joining us for Poster Parties on Mondays, March 28 and April 4 at 5 PM; and Wednesdays, March 30 and April 6 at Noon at the Henrico County Training Center. Posters, paints, and markers will be provided for Spirit Team members who wish to make a poster to display on race day. To register for the Spirit Team and/or Poster Parties, contact Kelsey Ryder, Fitness & Wellness Intern, at ryd001@henrico.us. What is Team Henrico?
