INTRODUCTION
The Caroline Lilly Knotts Memorial Scholarship is a $1,500 scholarship established to honor a graduating Henrico
County Public Schools field hockey student with evidence of the unique character traits that were an integral part of
Caroline’s life—making connections with peers, appreciating diversity and building bridges with others.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicant must:
 Be a senior planning to attend a four-year college
 Have participated in field hockey during their high school years
 Possess a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0, preferably as part of a specialty center program
 Submit evidence of commitment to service of others
 Be a permanent U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident at the time of application
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
 Application should be completed with care and attention to detail.
 Your essay represents you and should be typed, double-spaced, and free of grammatical errors.
 A current high school transcript must accompany the application.
 Attach a letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach or principal.
 Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college or university the student attends and may be used for
tuition, books, or other school-related costs.
