Johns Hopkins HIPAA Compliance Training for Visiting Students
Internet Instructions for Training
All Visiting Students are required to take the HIPAA “Intermediate Privacy Course for Health Care Providers”
course prior to starting your appointment at Johns Hopkins.
The course takes less then 30 minutes to complete. Please print a certificate of completion after completing the
course then give it to the department to be submitted with your appointment.
If you have already completed this course you may log into the
http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/interactive_learning/my_learning/ to secure a certificate.
You will need your JHED ID to take the course.
 Instructions:
-- Go to My Learning at: http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/interactive_learning/my_learning/
-- Click “Login using your JHED ID”
(Note: If you’re a First Time User Click “First Time JHED Users Click Here” and follow the instructions to authenticate
yourself and setup your password.)

Click “Course Catalogue” bar (under “My Learning” on left-hand side).
Click “Catalog” tag at top of the page
Click “Compliance”
Click “HIPAA”
Then select the course:
“Intermediate Privacy Course for Health Care Providers (Clinicians and Non-Clinicians)(White)”
Click “Take Course” bar
Follow the on screen instructions to complete the course
Back at the MyLearning Home Page Click the “My Learning History” bar
Find the course on the list then Click “View PDF” next to the course name
Print the Certificate and email to vismed@jhmi.edu
