PRAYER TREE: 255-4600 THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK: My Dear Sisters and Brothers, T oday we bring to a close the Jubilee celebration of our parish. We do so by Blessing the Cross in our Sanctuary. This is an appropriate way to celebrate, as we rededicate ourselves to the next 50 years of being The Body of Christ, Corpus Christi. I want to thank all of you for the rich gift of your participating in our parish family. We are blessed that you are so committed to Christ, through Prayer, Sacrament and Service. As we gather daily for our celebration of the Eucharist, we welcome all to join in our gratitude to God. It is our endless prayer to say thank you to God. “All are Welcome” and are grateful, is a reality we live in celebrating our unity, as one in Christ. Thank you to all who have been so very generous in their participation in the many events over the last year of our celebration. Thank you to those who have served us by their committed efforts on our committees, through our appreciation dinners, and in the generosity of your gifts for the poor and needy. We all contribute as we can to make this parish a visible sign of Christ’s presence. I pray God’s continued blessing on each of you. -Fr. Eucharistic Adoration (Benediction, Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy) is also available Thursdays with Father Terry from 7:00-8:00 p.m. ~~~~~~~~~ A s part of our celebration, we have invited Steve Angrisano back to share with us a new song he wrote for our parish called “Living Our Faith.” In it, you will hear phrases that embody Corpus Christi. Our Jubilee theme, “Following Christ, Serving with Love” is evident. In each verse of the song you will hear our mission statement; “As disciples of Jesus, we live our faith through word, sacrament, and service.” Today and in the weeks ahead, I hope you will enjoy learning and singing this new song that truly encompasses who we are as the Body of Christ. Knightly News Next meeting: Tuesday, June 9 (7:00 p.m.) CHURCH OF CORPUS CHRISTI T he Body and Blood of Christ. The Eucharist, in which the community relives the passion, death and resurrection of the Lord, is the heart of the Kingdom. The Kingdom is realized in the Eucharist. Jesus, present in His passion, death and resurrection, is God’s activity among us, perfectly and completely. The Eucharist is the now of the Kingdom. Yet, the presence of sin apparently keeps the presence of God’s activity from being fully realized. In so far as we die to sin, we will rise in the realization of the Kingdom. Yet, while there is growth, there is already a harvest. The Eucharist is our daily bread and the fullness of growth. Through sharing, mutual support and prayer, women have the opportunity to clarify their values, identify their strengths, and bring this new awareness to their everyday lives. As a woman, you are the one person who knows what you need in your life. This is not a Bible study group, counseling group, or parenting class. It is designed for your spiritual growth. It is a 9-week spirituality series that will be offered Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. starting August 20 through October 15. The session will conclude with a celebration event on October 15. We especially would like to welcome any ladies who are new to the parish. Please feel free to ask your friends to come as well, it is an ecumenical program. It is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other women in our community. We will be seeking to fill this program early since we need to order the pilot materials for those registered. Registration fee is $25. You may call or text Melanie at 223-6178 or e-mail melned6@yahoo. com with any questions or to register. Welcome! We thank you for choosing to worship with us today and hope that you will return often. If you do not belong to a parish, we hope you will consider the Church of Corpus Christi. You may call the parish office at 255-4600 to register. Whether is was major (like a home) minor (like a book) or sentimental (like a pet) how you join your finances shows your values. What have you learned about joint decision making from that first purchase? .....by Susan Vogt www.SusanVogt.net. PLEASE CHECK OUT YOUR WEBSITE @ www.corpuschristibismarck.com Message from Bishop Kagan... Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, We are approaching the end of our 58th Annual God’s Share Appeal. I am very thankful for your generosity this year. Your response is a heart-felt answer to our theme, “...let us love not in word or speech, but in deed and truth.” 1 John 3:18. In John’s letter, we learn that the way we came to know of Jesus’ love for us, was that He laid down his life - as an example for us to follow. By making a gift to this year’s God’s Share Appeal, you have expressed your love as a Christian steward in deed and truth - supporting Christ’s work here in western North Dakota. The God’s Share Appeal allows you to join thousands of Catholics in the Diocese of Bismarck to support the important programs and services that assist every parish in our diocese. May the Lord reward you abundantly. If you have not yet made your gift to this year’s appeal, I encourage you to do so soon. Your participation is very important and I do need your support. Please remember that when giving back to God in thanksgiving for all the blessings we have received, no gift is too large or too small. I also want to thank you for your personal prayer intention cards. I remember all of your prayer requests each day when I come before our Lord in prayer. Sincerely in Christ, Most Reverend David D. Kagan, D.D., P.A., J.C.L. Bishop of Bismarck
