Key areas of responsibility are: • Manage the post and staff the telephone in the office and undertake a range of administrative tasks including maintaining databases, updating the website, record keeping and correspondence. • Organise all paperwork and communications for events and meetings, taking minutes where appropriate. • Maintain stocks of stationery and oversee equipment, utilities and bills for the office. • Keep the accounts up to date and produce monthly bank reconciliations and financial reports, as well as liaising with SCM’s accountant to produce the end-of-year accounts. • Attend SCM events where possible to manage bookings and other essential administration. • Plan and carry out regular mailings to SCM’s membership, with support from other staff and oversee production and distribution of publications and materials. • Assist other staff and volunteers with marketing and fundraising work as appropriate. SCM is a student-led movement. General Council (GC) is the decision-making body of the movement, and the trustees of the charity. Its elected members are either students or recent graduates.
