Today, Nestlé Oceania spans Australia, New
Zealand and the Pacific Islands, with 5,700
employees, 20 factories and 4 distribution
centres owned and operated by the company.
The challenge
Nestlé Oceania needed to access accurate and
timely data on electricity usage, firstly to validate
billing information, secondly to analyse and optimise
electricity usage throughout their manufacturing sites,
and thirdly to make informed decisions pertaining to
the future purchase of electricity.
Ausgrid Business Services solution
In 2005, Ausgrid Business Services introduced Nestlé to
WebGraphs, an internet based service where customers
can access their electricity consumption data 24 hours,
7 days a week through a secure windows environment.
The result
Nestlé has found WebGraphs ease-of-use, accessibility
and continual functionality improvements with each
new version, to be a major benefit to the business,
including the ability for non-specialist employees
to effortlessly perform basic analysis through the
utilisation of the pre-defined reports.
Since the release, Nestlé’s Site Energy Champions
have been frequently accessing electricity usage data
reports, presented in a graphical format. This excellent
visual tool has aided the Site Energy Champions to
facilitate employee engagement in energy efficiency
programs. Employee engagement is a key element in
Nestlé’s Energy Efficiency Program.
