Musical director, Tracy Stuchbery, has been steadily building the choir’s capacity to sing expressively and has complemented that effort with her uncanny ability to select repertoire which challenges the choir and pleases their audiences. As the group has changed over time, they have been fortunate to attract singers from South Okanagan communities from Oliver to Kelowna who, without fail, bring great energy and voice. In the most recent concerts in December, Musaic performed with guest artists Mike Treadway, percussion, and student Elise Wiesinger, violin, who accompanied the choir and played their own pieces; this variety was well received by everyone. Musaic’s Spring 2016 concerts ‘Roses I send to You’ will be performed April 23, 24 and 30 in Penticton, Summerland, and Kelowna featuring guest Tenor Kaden Forsberg. Following the spring concert, Musaic will record a number of pieces for a compact disc which will be used as a fund raiser for the new tower of the Penticton Regional Hospital.
