Rural growth has many barriers, one of the significant barrier is the lack of access digital
communicationservicesandinformationtechnology (IT)inruralcommunities.PPAFaddressed thisissueandsetupthedigitalHubsattheunioncouncillevelwiththecollaborationofPartner
organizations(POs)initiatedtheidea Digital Hubs to provide a platform for rural community
members to access group aone-on-onetraining,takeadvantagehigh-speedinternetaccessa
exploredigitaltechnology inasafeasupportivelearningenvironment.
Objective
The aim of Digital Hub is establish for rural connectivity among the local & disconnected
people and technological development, creativity for the local community in a supportive,
entrepreneurial environment and provides the opportunities for collaboration, network and
knowledge-sharing. Secondly, strengthens the LSOs’ financial capacities providing a regular source of
incomefordevelopmentactivities.

Most of the rural and especially indigenous population alternates agriculture with the
production of artisan pieces; these populations have always lived in conditions of extreme
poverty without any support from the government or organizations that bring together their
needsorinterestsoftheirproductiveactivities.Manyoftheartisanactivitiesandproductshave
disappeared and consumption has diminished drastically as a result of the urbanization
processesandthefarmers’integrationtothealienatinglaborforces.
Thelittleproductionfoundinthemarketplacewasintendedforthemarketofsouvenirs,which
affected the identity and symbolic meaning of the artisan objects. The productive capacity is
limited and scattered, and the whole process needed a technological and infrastructural
improvement
