General Notes:
1. The recommendations in this Product Selection Guide are of general nature only. Refer to the Product Data Sheets or properties chart to
be certain that the selected Foster® product meets all the requirements of your particular application.
2. Do not apply exterior weather barrier coating on horizontal surfaces that might be subject to prolonged ponding of water.
3. If insulation cement is used, it must be completely dry before applying Foster® mastics or coatings. Prime as required.
4. Because of the variation in surface characteristics of facing materials, we recommend that the user conduct their own adhesion
tests when choosing a coating or mastic for foil, kraft and plastic faced insulations.

ADHESIVE COATING, RED: A water-based product for sizing and lagging applications. Meets MIL-A-3316C, Class 1, Grade B.
FIRE RESISTIVE ANTI-ABRASION COATING: A non-flammable coating for the inner surfaces of cellular glass insulation to
reduce abrasion due to vibration and temperature change.
INSULFAS® COATING: A light colored insulation coating and lagging adhesive. U.S. Coast Guard approved 164.012.
HIGH VELOCITY DUCT SEALANT: A fast setting, flexible metal joint sealant. Use with or without reinforcing tapes. Meets
NFPA 90A and 90B. U.L. Classified.
SAFETEE™ DUCT SEALANT: A fire resistive, fibrated water-based duct sealant for heating and air conditioning ducts.
U.L. Classified, UL-181B-M Listed.
DUCT-FAS™ DUCT SEALANT: A fire resistive, water-based non-fibrated duct sealant used on indoor/outdoor high
velocity ducts. U.S. Coast Guard approved 164.012. U.L. Classified, UL-181B-M Listed.
FUNGICIDAL PROTECTIVE COATING: An EPA-registered water-based polyacrylate coating that provides long term
protection against the growth and spread of odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew on its surface.
FIRE RESISTIVE LAGGING ADHESIVE: A water-based adhesive coating that meets MIL-A-3316C, Class 1,
Grade A; U.S. Coast Guard 164.012.
PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE: A fast tacking, water-based, pressure sensitive adhesive used to adhere a wide
variety of insulation materials to metal or construction surfaces where immediate adhesion is required.
FACING ADHESIVE: U.L. Classified, water-based adhesive coating that meets MIL-A-3316C, Class 1, Grade A.
WATERBASED CONTACT BOND ADHESIVE: A high tack adhesive that can be used for contact bonds or one way wet
bonding of high density fibrous insulation (up to 6 lbs. density). Meets performance requirements of MIL-A-3316C,
Class 2.
REINFORCING MEMBRANE: A white leno weave synthetic fiber reinforcing membrane with a 10 x 10 mesh size. Easy to
handle yet superior to glass cloth because of its elastic properties.

for sprayed foam systems that provide excellent protection and durability. MONOLAR® coatings have been used successfully for more than
15 years to protect sprayed foam from vapor migration and the elements.
MONOLAR® coating 60-95 (white) and 60-96 (gray): A top performance Hypalon* based elastomeric vapor barrier, which has no equal in
physical and performance properties or years on the job. It features outstanding chemical and fire resistance. See Product Data Sheets
