Literature Day Cereal Box Book Report Due Thursday 10/29 v Directions for the outside of the Cereal Box: 1.) Choose a cereal box in good shape (take the wax paper out of inside). 2.) Cut a “door” on the front of the box. Tape or glue the top of the box to seal it. 3.) Cover the box on the outside (paint, colored paper, contact paper, fabric – you choose!). 4.) Decorate the “front door” of the box to look like the outside cover of your book (you can recreate the cover of your book to look how you like). • The front must include: • Book title • Author • Your name v Directions for the inside of the Cereal Box: 1.) The inside flap should be a summary of the book. Include the following: • Describe in depth the main character(s) • Describe the main setting • Describe the main (or an important) events of the story in order of how they happened • Use specific details about what the character(s) thought, said, and did • Include at least 3 quotes from the book (be sure to use correct quotation/comma punctuation) • Tell what happens in the end or how the story concludes • State the theme or main idea of the book 2.) The inside space should be a 3D scene from your book (this can be created using real or drawn objects), include: • Details showing the setting • Main character(s) – including the character you are dressing as for Literature Day! v Be ready to present about your book • State the title and author • Read your summary • Talk about the scene you created inside the cereal box • Practice speaking clearly at an understandable pace!
