Cereal Box Style
FRONT Panel
1. Select a brand of cereal; modify its name to reflect an important
characteristic of your states and put it on the front.
2. Place the real name, motto and nickname of your state and a physical
map of your states on the front of your cereal box.
a. Include your state's capital and largest city.
b. Give the latitude and longitude of your state's capital.
c. Draw your state's flag. Place these on the front of the box.
d. Tell the states that border each of your states.
e. Name the rivers, lakes, & land forms that are unique to your states.
f. Report your states' population, unemployment, area of state, miles
across to drive the state width.
BACK Panel
3. The back panel should have a word collage (cloud) of information of the
people of your states. These can include their culture, customs, foods, or
dialects. What environmental factors contribute to peoples' lifestyles?
a. Identify celebrities and their reason for fame.
b. Tell the number of U. S. Senators and members of the House of
Representatives your states have. (Use the 113th Congress data.)
d. Provide one funny law still on the books in your state.
SIDE Panels
4. On one of the side panels, tell the products that are grown and
manufactured in your states. On the other side panel tell a brief history and
include important dates for your state.
BOX top
5. The box top should about your state’s main sports, or fun attractions.
INSIDE
6. Inside your empty cereal box, include a three dimensional prize.
a. Examples can include an image, model, trinket, or statue.
b. It should reflect a favorite sport, or strong cultural feature for each
state.
BOTTOM OF Box
7. Place references you used on the bottom of the cereal box.
INSIDE TOP FLAP
8. Inside the top flap, tell the name of the Governor and Lt. Governor. Tell
the number of counties into which your state is divided.
9. Appearance neat creative, punctuation and capitalization of information
used.
10. Presentation of state, knowledge of your state.
