Intsalling Microstrategy 8.1.1 and Hotfix2
1. Install Microstrategy 8.1.1
Extract the two files from the DVD/CD. It is generally easiest to copy to
HD then uncompress.
Run setup.exe in the Installations folder of the 8_1_1_install directory

Paste Customers License key. We do not have an all powerful Master
key like previous WebrReporter installs, so you have to use the
customers key. Next

Your License Key will show different options: Mark the options that
are available. Uncheck Tutorial – reporting, and under Microstrategy
Narrowcast Server uncheck Microstrategy Tutorial Delivery.

You may or may not need to do the Registration steps. If you do not,
skip the registration steps.
Fill out the Customers Information | Next
Fill out the Information then Next (the email you specify above is where
the Activation code will be sent.) This can either be your email or the
customers email. Either way you will need to get the activation code for
later install use.

Install 8_1_1_Hotfix2:
Run the setup.exe in the Install 8_1_1_Hotfix2 uncompressed directory
Do not click yes or no at this point. Stop the Intelligence server and exit
the icon located in the bottom right hand corner of your screen.
Stop the Intelligence server located in the bottom right hand corner of
your screen.
Exit the Microstrategy Service manager at the right bottom of your
screen.

You may or may not have to do this step. If you were not prompted to
Register in previous steps you will need to activate based on the email
sent to you………….Otherwise skip the activation steps and proceed to
the Configuration Wizard setup.

The activation code will goto the email you specified earlier.
Launch Microstrategy License Manager

Choose Microstrategy Intelligence Server then Next
Choose the Symphonymetadata ODBC and sa / password | Next
