WASHINGTON COUNTY VETERANS SERVICE OFFICE Washington County Veterans Memorials “What is a Veteran? A “Veteran” – whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve – is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check payable to “The United States of America,” for an amount of “up to, and including his life.” That is honor. And there are way too many people in this country today, who no longer understand that fact.” -Unknown Compiled by: Renée Landvatter VA Work Study County Veterans Service Office 10/07/2014 Table of Contents Allenton – Veteran’s Park ................................................................................................................... 3 Barton – St. Mary’s Memorial Field..................................................................................................... 4 Erin – Veterans Memorial................................................................................................................... 5 Germantown – In Honor of the Men of the Town of Germantown Who Were Called to the Colors ....... 6 Germantown – Veterans Memorial .................................................................................................... 7 Hartford – Local Veterans Memorial ................................................................................................... 8 Hartford – Signal Flag ......................................................................................................................... 9 Hartford – Veterans Memorial Park .................................................................................................. 10 Hartford – Veterans Memorial Pool .................................................................................................. 11 Jackson – Veterans Monument......................................................................................................... 12 Kewaskum – World Wars I and II/Korean/Vietnam Memorial ........................................................... 13 Newburg – Freedom Park ................................................................................................................. 14 Richfield – Flagpole Monument ........................................................................................................ 15 West Bend – Battlefield Cross........................................................................................................... 16 West Bend – County Memorial Plaque dedicated to Korean War Veterans ........................................ 17 West Bend – County Memorial Plaque dedicated to WWII Veterans .................................................. 18 West Bend – Harvey Bruhy Memorial Field ....................................................................................... 19 West Bend – Washington County Civil War/World War I Memorial ................................................... 20 West Bend – Washington County Freedom Memorial ....................................................................... 21 West Bend – Washington County World War II/Korean War/Vietnam Memorial ............................... 22 West Bend – County Park ................................................................................................................. 23 2 Allenton Veterans Park: Located at 101 1st Street This is a local Veterans Park that is dedicated to all veterans by the American Legion.
