Tinton Falls Applebee Fundraiser – A Great way to jump into Spring! Over 60 members met at Applebee’s Bar and Grill in Tinton Falls on Saturday, April 10 between 8:00 – 10:00 AM to raise funds for our Chapter. This event was focused on raising awareness about the Vietnam War Commemoration celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam Era. It was also to help raise funds for our chapter’s contribution to the NJ Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation and Museum in Holmdel. We had a great crowd and even a few walk ins that morning - thank you to our JR AUSA Staff members Emily Lane and Amanda Hall as they flagged down cars to join us for breakfast! The morning was busy with welcoming our members, serving them breakfast, distributing raffle tickets and taking the time to recognize our Vietnam Veterans who were able to join us that morning. A special thank you to John Lane and Paul Stevens for getting the event off the ground and Darla Hall for making sure everything kicked off without any hitches. Of course thank you to Ellie Smith and Kit Roache for making beautiful gift baskets that we were able to raffle off and for their never ending support to our Chapter. Thank you also to our Gold Corporate Sponsor: Ameripack. They donated over 100 coolers filled with Girl Scout cookies and candy that each attendee was able to take home with them to enjoy. At the event we raised over $1200.00 that will be donated to the NJ Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Foundation for the School Bus Trip fund to support school trips to the memorial.
