Ok, team- are you ready to play? Here‟s how it works: as you move to each new hole on the
golf course, pull your score from the “Score Bag.” Keep record of how you do. A par, birdie,
double bogey, and so on. Pretty simple, eh? Track your score and how many +/- (over par or
under par) for each hole. The sample scorecard below shows how to keep score.
So get ready to start. Because there
are so many of you starting, you‟ll start
at different parts of the course. Just
make sure you follow in order until you
complete a full round.
Are you wondering what makes it “Gotcha
Golf?” Simple: You are going to try to sneak
a lower total handicap on your scorecardmaybe on one hole or maybe on a few
different holes. It is up to your teammates to
try to catch your „error‟ at the end of the
game. (Rusty cheats all the time! I keep track
of all his scores on my card just to watch him!)
If you‟d like to practice with the scorecard, find out Rusty and my total scores.
Also, find out our course handicap (number over or under the course total.)
A few final things… When your team is done at a hole, please replace your “divots” (your scores) back where
you found them (the bag.)
Second, you are given 1 “Mulligan card” at the start of your game. This card is a one-time, do-over chance, a
„mulligan‟ to try for a better score on ONE HOLE. But you can only use the mulligan card once. And there is no
guarantee your next score will be better!
Finally, watch out for the “Hazards!” They‟ll cost you a swing! (+1)

So how do you win?
At the end of the game, the Course Pro will give you a set amount of
time to tally up your scores. Remember to find out the total score AND
find out the total handicap- (how many +/-). Then, everyone in the
group in turn announces his or her handicap.
If I try to
sneak a lower handicap and Velma catches my error, she yells
“GOTCHA!”, proves where I made an error, and she gets to knock one
point off of her total score, and add TWO to mine.
But, once the Course Pro calls “TIME” and if nobody caught my „error,‟ I
get to yell “Gotcha”- keep my improved handicap, and add ONE point
to everyone else‟s core! Now THAT‟S GOTCHA GOLF!
