We are delighted to have so many students interested in playing in the orchestra! The Jefferson City School District supports music education by generously supplying students with a violin, viola or cello as long as they choose to continue to be part of the school orchestra program. The district also employs a string teacher, Susan Wallace, who comes to our school two times a week to instruct our beginning orchestra students. Students wanting more experience can also attend the All-School 5th Grade Orchestra that rehearses on Mondays after school in the high school orchestra room. Our CHE string players will join together with the other elementary school fifth-grade string players to perform three concerts this year--December 4, March 5, and May 1. We want to thank Mrs. Susan Wallace for doing such a great job here at Callaway Hills instructing our fifth grade string players.
