MIBT 2013 Scholarship Winners
MIBT Academic Merit Scholarships
MIBT Australian students who commence this March may be eligible for the
MIBT Academic Merit Scholarship.
MIBT is committed to helping students achieve their goals by offering
Scholarships to outstanding diploma students. MIBT rewards students for
excellent academic results achieved in their first trimester at MIBT by offering
them the opportunity to secure a scholarship for the final part of their MIBT
studies.
Note: must undertake 4 units in Trimester 1 to be eligible.








Scholarships winner
Having left school after Year 12 with less than
desirable results, studying at a tertiary level
was something that Jacob Coreno had never
considered, let alone thought to be possible.
Today, Jacob is an MIBT Scholarship winner
with an average of 91% from this first
trimester, and is working towards studying for
a double degree in Commerce and Law at
Deakin.
Jacobs says, “it feels great to actually get
recognised and rewarded for my hard work,
especially when I was so unsure if I was
capable of further studies.”

Biomedical Science at Burwood
MIBT’s Diploma of Health Sciences students will now be able to transfer
into the second year of the Bachelor of Biomedical Science with the
addition of the unit SLE115. This now gives students the option to study
this course at the Burwood campus.
FEE-HELP
MIBT as a recognised Higher Education Provider (HEP) allows eligible
students the opportunity to access the FEE-HELP loan scheme. Students
can choose to pay for part or full of the MIBT tuition fee through FEEHELP. For more information visit: www.goingtouni.gov.au

As well as Year 12 and mature age entry we accept VCAL Senior
Certificate for entry into Diploma courses.

The MIBT 2015 Brochures will be printed by the end of March. Copies will
be sent out when available.
Engineering Maths Prerequisite
MIBT continues to offer two Foundation Year Advanced Mathematics units
to Diploma of Engineering students who do not have the Maths prerequisite for direct entry to Engineering at Deakin University. The first
attempt in these units are free for eligible students, but repeating the
units will incur a cost as these two units are a pre-requisite to progression
and successful completion of the Diploma of Engineering.
Prerequisite MIBT Study Skills Support
MIBT offers students free study skills support through a range of services.
Free study skills workshops are held at MIBT throughout each trimester.
Workshops topics include: time management; referencing; avoiding
plagiarism; academic essay writing; and exam preparation and strategies.
For immediate assistance with specific study skills such as referencing,
essay structure, time management and exam preparation, students can
visit the Study Skills Support Drop-in Centre without an appointment.
