For 2014-2015
APPLICATIONS/FEES
Students will be asked to complete aSNHU in the High School application during the identified
enrollment period (at the beginning of the course) and submit afee ($100 per 3credit course and,
where applicable, a $25 fee for a 1 credit lab) by the established deadline (within thefirst 2-3 weeks

payment, signatures, etc).
High schools should identify a 'coordinator/liaison' to collect ALL applications and fees, make copies of
the applications, and submit to the Director for Dual Enrollment by the established deadline. Should a
check 'bounce' or credit card be 'denied', the Director for Dual Enrollment will notify the school and/or
teacher to correct the matter. The student will have 2 weeks to correct the matter or be withdrawn
from the course.
ADJUNCT INSTRUCTORS
Approvals are in effect for one academic year and requests to renew are completed in the Spring of each
year. If an approved teacher is no longer available (illness, resignation, etc.,) to teach the course for the
remainder ofthe semester/year, the high school administrator or liaison must contact the Director for
Dual Enrollment to determine the appropriate course ofaction in order tofulfill the commitment to
students. Should an approved teacher leave his/her position, a new course/instructor approval form
must completed and submitted for review.

PROGRAM OF STUDIES:
It is important for high schools to define SNHU in the High Schooi in the program of studies outlining the
courses where dual credit options are available, aswell as, consulting with the Director for Dual
Enrollment to ensure accurate program information. Below is astandard description of the program for
use in a high school's program of studies:
SNHU in the High School
Dual Enrollment Program
SNHU in the High School's dual enrollment program allows high school students the opportunity to earn early
college credits while in high school. At {name ofhigh school) designated courses have been aligned to meet the
same content, rigor and learning outcomes as that of the University. The high school teachers instructing these
courses met the University's adjunct faculty requirement and have been approved by the University. Students
will have the opportunity to take advantage of the dual credit opportunities at the beginning of the courses by
completing an application and submitting the course registration fee for each class. Once the registration period
closes, students will not be allowed to register for college credit. Since these courses are college courses, grades
earned while enrolled in the course are recorded on aSNHU transcript. Portability and transferability of credits
rests solely with individual colleges and universities as they have varying policies on accepting transfer credits;
thus, it is the students' responsibility to consult with higher educational institutions todetermine whether the
SNHU course(s) can be transferred. Additional information regarding the program can be directed to [high school
administrator). Currently, the courses offered for dual credit include: (list)
RENEWALS:
Instructors will need to submit an on-going course approval form by June 30*" with an updated syllabus
including the new academic year and/or term. The forms will be sent sometime in April.
SYLLABI
If you have not already done so, please submit to me an updated course syllabus (electronically).
Approved courses meet the same criteria as college courses including rigor, outcomes, departmental
approved texts, and course outlines/pacing guides. All courses taught in the high school for dual credit
must appear on aSouthern New Hampshire University syllabus following the prescribed template. Each
course is expected to include all the elements identified on the SNHU syllabus template (course
title/name/description; semester; course learner outcomes; general education goals—where
appropriate, etc.) Students should be given acopy of the syllabus and advised to keep it. Many times
colleges and universities request syllabi in order to conduct a transfer credit evaluation.
TRANSCRIPT REQUEST PROCESS:
Once student grades are received and entered, students can request official transcripts by visiting the
www.snhu.edu/dual website, clicking onthe "transcript request" tab and following the process to
secure a transcript. It is important for the high school teacher to issue the student s their Datatel ID

NOTES:
Students who are accepted into the 3Year Honors Program In Business at SNHU with dual enrollment
credit, will not lose credit forany prior coursework completed. The dual enrollment credit will appear
on their SNHU transcript. However, students inthe 3Year Honors Program must complete all 3Year
specific course modules within the program and therefore dual-enrollment coursework will not waive a
3Year course requirement. For example: If a studentcompletes ITIOO through dual-enrollment, they
will have a 3 credit ITIOO course appear on theirSNHU transcript, but will still be required to complete
the IT module inthe 3Year Honors Program. Dual-enrollment coursework will not exempt anystudent
from coursework required of the 3Year Honors Program. We are happy to review all dual enrollment
course work during the admission process to determine if any credit will be waived during their time in
the program.
