ANGEL can be accessed at http://mycourses.mdc.edu How can you do well in this class? I want all of you to succeed in this course. However, this is going to take a lot of hard work. Plan on studying a minimum of 2-3 hours for every hour of lecture. This is not a “listen and learn” type of class. Most of the learning will happen later, while reviewing notes, your textbook and, most importantly, while solving problems. In general, your grade in this course and your understanding of the concepts involved will be directly proportional to the number of problems you work from within the chapter, at the end of the chapter, on line, or from supplementary books. Your textbook is a very important tool. Stay ahead of the material by reading ahead; the lectures will make more sense to you this way. Other resources: Ask, Ask, Ask. If you have questions bring them up during class, via email, or in person. During my office hours I am willing to work with you one-on-one, so please feel free to come with any questions. If my hours do not work well with your schedule, email me, or see me before or after class. Questions during lecture are always welcome!! Take advantage of the weekly PLTL (peer-led team learning) sessions. Work together in small groups outside of class. This will help you tremendously. Tutoring is also available: 1.
