Dear Parents,
I would like to remind our JPII families that the Student Council is sponsoring a
Pumpkin Decorating Contest. All the pumpkins will be used as decorations for the
October Dance which will be held on Saturday, October 24 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the
gym. Please remember this is a family evening, so each child must be accompanied by an
adult. There will be a free will offering at the door. The categories for the contest
include: religious, movie/cartoon character, sports, super hero, and whacky/crazy.
Please do not bring any pumpkins to school until Friday, October 23.
Remember no carved pumpkins are allowed, and you may only enter one pumpkin
in each category.
The second quarter of school begins on Monday, October 19. Time flies by
so quickly. Have a great week! Report cards will go home on Oct. 21.
Please join us for the October PTO meeting which will be held in the
Teacher’s Lounge at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, October 19. We will hear about
the October Family Dance and many other upcoming events! We need your input!
You will also receive parent hours for attending this meeting.
We are blessed to honor our school namesake on Oct. 22, the Feast Day of
Saint Pope John Paul II. We are honored that Bishop Swain will be joining us for
9:00 a.m. mass, a walk through our hallways, and lunch at our school on that day.
We will have a special movie and treat in the afternoon. There will be NO school mass
on Friday.
John Paul II School continues to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet with our school
family every Monday at 8:30 a.m. in the church. Feel free to join us for this wonderful
prayer.
We will kick-off our Cookie Dough fundraiser on Friday, October 23. How about
some fresh, warm, chewy cookies to share with your families! Our students are selling
Classic Cookie Collections. Please call the office if you would like to “stock up” for the
upcoming holiday season! These boxes/tubs of frozen cookie dough, brownies,
specialized coffee, and other awesome treats will be sold through Nov. 6.
Our monthly restaurant night will be at Pizza Ranch on Oct. 20 from 5 – 8:00 p.m..
