Application Schedule
In the academic year 2013-2014, Tsinghua University offers 99
master’s degree programs and 78 Ph.D. programs to International
Students, which cover a variety of academic fields such as sciences,
engineering, humanities and arts, history, philosophy, economics,
management, law, education and medicine. Among those, there are
11 Master programs and one Doctoral program delivered in English.
The graduate programs in English are developed delicately for the
students who are skilled in English but do not have Chinese language
proficiency. The unique features and high quality make the programs
attractive since their establishment several years ago. In the Fall
of 2012, more than 300 international students are newly enrolled

Master in Architecture
The School of Architecture at Tsinghua University is the first in China to
offer an accredited Master degree to international students. The purpose
of the program is to develop a major new platform of architectural
education in response to the rapid urbanization of China.The program
offers a nationally-accredited professional Master degree, Master in
Architecture (M. Arch II). With a particular focus on the architecture
and design in China, the School of Architecture gives graduate students,

The ICPM program aims to broaden and deepen students’ knowledge
of contemporary issues in the leadership, strategic management, and
delivery of international projects to provide value to stakeholders

how Chinese organizations operate, manage, and delivery projects in the

The MIR program is committed to a better understanding of China’s
role in international relations as well as China’s foreign policy through
inter-disciplinary and inter-cultural dialogues. The graduates of the
program will be qualified to be administrative officers and policy
analysts in various levels of governments, think tanks, international
organizations, multinational corporations and international media. To
provide students with more extra-curricular academic activities, the
department successfully initiated the Carnegie-Tsinghua Distinguished
Speaker Program in 2010, in which established scholars and policy

The Master of Law Program (LL.M. Program) In
Chinese Law
The Master of Law Program (LL.M. Program) In Chinese Law at
Tsinghua Law School is the first formal legal educational program at the
graduate level in China, which is designed and offered exclusively for
foreign law students and legal professionals. It is believed that the best
way of studying the legal system of a foreign country is to stay and live in
the society while studying the rules and legal operations in that society.
Therefore, this LL.M. Program does not only provide all courses and
materials in English, but also the unique opportunity to get insight views
of Chinese legal system and the society through close contacts with
Chinese students, legal professionals and common people.
Master in Management Science and Engineering
The department of Industrial Engineering (IE) of Tsinghua University has
been ranked No. 1 in China and has achieved an international reputation
for quality and excellence in research and education. The IE department
has started to offer an international Master program since 2001. Nearly
40 international students are enrolled in this program each year, and
most of them are from Europe. The Department offers a wide array of
