Project: Extraction of sentiment objectives and opinion words
Proposed an HITS-based algorithm to rank the candidate feature-opinion pairs to improve the precision of the top-ranked candidates.
Proposed an algorithm using the Signed Network to remove the noise of the candidate pairs.
Proposed to use the Mutual Information and a set of other features to judge the collocation of two candidate words.
Designed and implemented the extraction system and polarity computing system.
Got the best F1 score on micro average in the third Chinese Opinion Analysis Evaluation.
Planning to apply the Markov Logic Network(MLN) method to the extraction system.

Project: Developing the Chinese Review Miner

Designed and implemented the data crawling system which can incrementally and stably crawling the users’ reviews and the relevant product information from the review-orientated website and electronic business websites.
Implemented a visualization tool by actionscript to show the relationship network of the users in micro blogs, in which one can search the k-shortest routes from one person to another.
Built a wiki system to manage the Lab’s information and knowledge.

Aesthetics based image search system (Professional Practice)
Built an image search system which concerns the kind of emotions a picture arouses in people by utilizing the color, shape and composition features.

Responsible for the multi-dimension index building with the KD tree.
Extended a single salient region detection algorithm into multiple salient regions detection algorithm, which aimed for image preprocessing in our system.
Text-based campus search engine (Fundamentals of Search Engine Technology)
Crawled all the htmls, docs and pdfs of our college website using the Heritrix.
Built the inverted index with Luence and Chinese parser considering the pagerank model.
Nov. 2010 Search engine’s user log analysis (High Performance Computing)
Utilized the Hadoop and MapReduce framework to parallel calculate the websites’ visit rank based on a large size of search engine’s user logs.
Deployed our task on the Amazon Web Service’s Elastic MapReduce with a cluster of 20 virtual machines.
Dec.2010 UTable conference system (Human Computer Interaction Theory and Technology)
Implemented a conference system with UTable(a big table with multi-touch screen) by which the users can easily implement a slideshow, share the screen and comments and communicate with each other by text message.

Implemented the Data Bypass Technology to solve the data conflicts and Branch Predicting

Designed and built a “beat hamster” game chip manually, welding nearly 1000+ wires and 20+ basic chips.
Designed a novel strategy to control the action utilizing the signal’s delay.

A Desktop software which can generate the meaning, phonetic symbol and relevant sentences from a list of GRE words.
A J2ME software based on Nokia S60V5 that helps the user to browse, recite and review the GRE words.
A search engine published on Google App Engine which can provide the user relevant sentences and similar words measured by edit distance.
May. 2011 A simple voting machine
Implemented by javascript, can vote at the highest rate of 10 votes per second.
Utilize the Canvas class of HTML5 to grasp the verification photo and key-pixel method to crack the verification code.
