PhD and MSc Positions Available University of Oklahoma Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability Assistant professor Hernan A. Moreno is looking for graduate students who want to join his research group at the Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability (DGES, http://geography.ou.edu/index.php) within the School of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences (http://www.ou.edu/ags.html) at the University of Oklahoma, for the Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 semesters. A bachelor degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, Geography, Meteorology or related discipline with emphasis in water resources, hydrology and hydrometeorology is desired. Graduate studies and skills in hydroinformatics and numerical modeling are a plus. Applicants must submit GRE, TOEFL (only international applicants whose first language is not English), unofficial transcripts, statement of interest, names of two academic references and a writing sample in English. A broad and exciting list of potential research topics includes: – – – – – Evaluation of climate global circulation models. Hydrologic assessment of quantitative precipitation estimates and forecasts. Hydrologic effects of climate and land cover change in water supply basins. Distributed hydrologic modeling for flood forecasting. Tropical hydrology and paired basin modeling under land cover/land use change.
