By Madelene Etter
Description
Learn the numbers in Spanish while you walk a mile to rhythmic music!
Two ten-minute lessons teach you the numbers in Spanish as you walk one
mile. The first lesson covers the numbers 0 - 100 and the second lesson
covers the numbers 100 - 1,000. Offers various ways to practice the
numbers such as counting by tens, random numbers ending in fifty and
saying the hundreds number formed from three of the same number
(example: hear "dos, dos, dos" and say "doscientos veintidós"). Numbers
are recorded in English and Spanish so that you can listen and understand
without the script. Refer to this script to visually reinforce the numbers after
your walking lesson.
The audio is recorded at a moderate walking tempo of 128 beats per minute.
As you step to the beat you complete the two lessons in 20 minutes.

About the Author
Spanish teacher to kids and adults for over twenty-five years, Madelene Etter strives to
make learning enjoyable for her students. Instilling a life-long love of learning languages
in her students has always been one of her goals. She plays language games with the
three-year olds as well as with the fifty-year olds so that students have fun while
acquiring Spanish.
"I learned from my husband how not to teach a language," says Madelene. "He still has
bad memories of the notebooks he had to fill with French verb conjugations and to this
day refuses to speak French although he actually understands quite a bit."
Just as when you acquire your first language as a child, learning another language is
about hearing it on a regular basis. The idea for "Walk and Learn Spanish Numbers"
came to her while on a treadmill. "I love to walk to music and sometimes I walk while
listening to French lessons. So I thought combining the two would be a fun way to learn.
Why not walk while learning?"
Madelene holds a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Carroll College in Helena, Montana
and is a Cuban-born native speaker of Spanish. She has taught Spanish at Carroll College
