Trademark Internet Training Room
The basis of the TM integrated online marketing incubator is to help local merchants, business owners and individuals utilize our technical, marketing and internet backgrounds to better understand and utilize the internet to promote their individual businesses.
What are we doing?
Our concept is hands-on small classroom style training and individual consultation during business hours and early evenings or weekends. This will be done with specific dates and time and will be offered for free or at minimal costs.
(under $25 ea)
- provide DDA members with free access during business hours for scheduled consultations; free access to classes will also offered
- DDA can use as a recruiting tool and help to show support for local merchants and businesses within Royal Oak
- The Incubator could also be a small host to small events, meetings or DDA events
- To keep and attract progressive business in Royal Oak
Why is this needed?
Through our experience and ongoing reinforcement (daily calls and emails) we have found that business owners and those in marketing want to find more ways to promote their business online but are unsure how, the costs or time involved. The internet, a company website, social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn has made it possible for every small, medium and large business to market themselves online in an effective manner that show real results. Often small businesses are not able to afford modest advertising and marketing budgets. This is possible when you know how to:
- plan out your desired goals
- understand what type of work is involved and how to execute it
- understand what you can do and what you should hire out
- follow your plan being proactive and reactive
- continuously analyze the results, established a modified plan and execute
What will we provide?
With the availability of an office space in our general office complex that we sublet until recently, TM wanted to make a training room available and run a series of scheduled ongoing classes and open room time for local area businesses and merchants.
We will provide the technical personnel to do the training and consultation.
We will provide the online registration software.
We will provide the use of our leased space located above Tom’s Oyster Bar on Main St. ($1,000/mo value)
What we need?
We are requesting that the costs of this start-up are subsidized by the DDA, city of Royal Oak or combined forces. Our needs are seeking funds to underwrite OR donations of the following:
- 4 folding tables 30” x 90”
- 20 padded folding chairs
- Adjustable height workstation and stool
- 60” lcd/plasma tv for presentations and mounting bracket, cables
- Presentation computer (Dell Optiplex 760 with specifics)
- Laser printer, color and toner supplies
- Server (Dell Poweredge T100 with specifics)
- 5 basic workstation computers (Dell desktops with specifics)
- Server, desktop installation, networking, etc
- Misc office supplies (signage, paper, pens, folders, mouse pads, etc.)
We have researched all of the above items and a budget of $18,000 is appropriate to launch this training incubator.
Our target launch date is October 12 th
2009.
