LOTUS PRINTER DRIVERS
for use with Lotus 1-2-3 Release 3.1
INTRODUCTION
Lotus printer device drivers are software programs that enable
printers to print text and graphs from Lotus 1-2-3 Release 3.1 on
80x86 based computer systems supported by Lotus 1-2-3 Release 3.1,
operating under MS-DOS.
The drivers are licensed by Lotus Development Corporation, solely for use
by Licenced Users of 1-2-3 Release 3.1.
The Printer Drivers take full advantage of the Impress Technology
as well as the native raster printing capabilities. The only known
restrictions are those imposed by the printer itself. For a complete
list
of printer funtions see the User Guides and Reference manuals provided
with the printer.
This Batch file installation procedure should not be used to replace
existing drivers with newer versions.
DRIVER INSTALLATION
To install the driver in 1-2-3 Release 3.1 the following steps must
be followed:
1. Insert the driver distribution disk into a drive and make it
the default drive.
3. Run INSTDRV.BAT by typing INSTDRV followed by the full path
name of your 1-2-3 Release 3.1 subdirectory and the name of the
default drive.
i.e. INSTDRV C:\123R3\ b
In this example the B: drive is the default drive. Be sure to
include the \ following the directory name. This batch file
will copy all the necessary additional files to the 1-2-3
subdirectory and will modify the INSTALL.DDF file already
present in the 1-2-3 subdirectory. The existing INSTALL.DDF
file will be renamed INSTALL.BAK.
3. Run the Lotus INSTALL program to install the printer drivers.
Use the Change Selected Equipment option and either of the
.DCF options to add the drivers to the desired .DCF
configuration file. Be sure to save the new selections before
exiting INSTALL.
