27th June 2012 Press Release: For Immediate Release Want2race competitors shine at a wet Blyton Park Circuit Drivers from all across the UK once again gathered to take part in want2race, the ultimate driving experience and competition day, held at the recently extended Blyton Park Circuit in Lincolnshire. The weather was not kind, with flood risks on high alert across the UK. The organisers were keen to make sure the day still ran ahead, although unfortunately the kart circuit was deemed too dangerous to operate due to standing water. This did not however dampen spirits or the competitiveness of the drivers. Want2race June’s winner was crowned at the end of an exciting and tricky day for driving, Rob Keogh was presented the winning trophy by Clio Cup star Jack Goff, after the top 10 drivers all had a share of the glory at the main prize giving. Rob Keogh, aged 35 from Bristol, was extremely happy to take the win and said: "Brilliant! Can't believe I won! Done quite a few trackdays in the past, but you never quite know how you’re doing until you compete. Trackdays can also get a little repetitive and want2race is simply a great day out. My advice to anyone is to gather a few like minded petrolhead friends and colleagues and let Ben and the want2race team pit you against each other!" All drivers took part in extended track and simulator sessions in both the morning and afternoon, getting around ten laps in the cars with race instructors and eight laps around Silverstone on the Formula 1 car simulator. Ben Hyland, the organiser said: “Wow what another fantastic experience today has been, the level of driving in the Lotus Elises has been unbelievable especially as the British weather has been so awful. It was our toughest decision yet, with Danny Henney coming a close second place after his recent British Rental Kart Championship success. However, Rob showed great natural ability and his improvement over the two sessions really impressed our instructors”. The event is aimed at all track day, karting and motorsport enthusiasts and looks to turn genuine novices into real racing drivers – each day the top prize is an ARDS test at various UK circuits and a test session at Snetterton in a current Lotus Elise Trophy or Cup UK car. Want2race is a fantastic experience day & with a prize worth well over £1000 – you simply cannot afford not to enter. Want2race is back on October 19th 2012 and is already looking like it will be the best event yet. Drivers enter online at www.want2race.co.uk ENDS
