Test 1 is online and each student will have two chances. You will get
credit for the highest score. Make sure you take the exam each
time.
The final is comprehensive and you must get a 50 without extra
credit to be eligible to pass the course.
Tutoring center is located in 222 Garrison Gym.
Monday-Thursday 9-5
Fridays 9-2.
Testing center is 221A Garrison Gym. (next to the tutoring center)
It is your responsibility to register for each test you take in
Casa (tests 1-5 and the final). It is possible to change times with
slot are available. Casa will not let you in if you are 10 minutes
late. If you do not make a reservation and no slots available you
will have to go stand-by.
Make-ups:
Summer is very short so make-ups are not available. Be sure you get
Every exam completed.
Course Polices:
All Course Polices apply except the section on Homework (no
homework is turned-in in summer). The online quizzes are worth more
in Summer because of having no homework and it is not wise to ”skip”
these for any reason. The other section that does not apply is the makeup exam.
Items you need to complete immediately:
1. Register with CASA
http://www.casa.uh.edu.
2. Buy the purple scantrons at the book store. (Need in class June 3)
3. Check-out the text book
http://online.math.uh.edu/Math1310
4. Look over my web page. Find the announcements, course polices and notes.
5. Find the review for test 1 solutions. The items in this review will not be covered in
class
6. Find CASA, both the tutoring and testing center.
Electronic Devices:
Please to do not stay in class or step outside to answer your cell phone unless it is an
emergency. It disturbs the other students. I do not want to see earphones or ear pieces for
electronic devices.
Class Attendance:
If you are not going to attend class on a regular basis, then take the online course. 15% of
your grade is based on attendance and even if you test well I will not give you a break. The
questions are from the suggested homework.
We only meet for 21 days so please plan not to miss any class meetings.
