An understanding of organic chemistry is required to properly understand biochemistry. This course treats organic chemistry in enough depth to make introductory biochemistry understandable. The will be handed out one week before they are due. Problem sets are due at the beginning of the lecture on the due date. Late problem sets will not be accepted. As a minimum, you should do all of the problems within the chapter. Additionally, there are end of the chapter problems which are solved in the solutions manual. Exams: There will be two Mid-Term exams and a Final Exam as follows: Mid-Term Exam I February 4, 2004 Mid-Term Exam II March 18, 2004 Final Exam To be set by Registrar Grading: Your course grade will be determined as follows, with letter grades assigned as per the university grade scale.
