acquire
Acquire is a verb which means to come into possession of, or to get something
as in: “I acquired a new sweater over the weekend.” Acquire shows up as
noun when it wears its “ion” ending becoming “acquisition”.

Chapter is a noun which names a main division of a book. Most of you will
begin reading chapter books in second grade as your reading becomes
stronger.

deduce
Deduce is a fancy word, a verb, which means to reach a conclusion about
something by reasoning. A synonym of deduce which you may know is
infer. Many of us infer or deduce ideas about characters in stories we read

Element is a noun which names a part of something, as in: An element of water
is oxygen. A literary element is a part of a story such as: characters and
setting.

factor
Factor is a noun which names an element, or a part of something that causes a
result as in: A factor in a student’s success is having wonderful teachers.
Factor also shows up in math when naming two or more numbers that are
multiplied together to produce product as in: Two factors of the number ten are
two and five.
