Teaching Poster
Create a poster on the US in WWII that teaches the classes about a significant event in the war, and its
significance.
Possible Topics:
Pivotal Battles (Pearl Harbor, Midway, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Anzio, D-Day, Bulge)
New Weapons and Machines (Aircraft, ships, tanks, guns, Liberty Ship)
Compare / Contrast American weapon to German or Japanese weapon.
Technology: Radar, Atomic weapons, Code Breaking
War on the Home Front (Rosie the Riveter, rationing, The Draft, Conscientious Objectors, Boeing, Ford, etc.)
Important People: War Leaders, Generals, Eisenhower, Patton, Chester Nimitz, Douglas McArthur)
Strategies: Island Hopping
War Conferences: Atlantic, Teheran, Casablanca, Yalta, San Francisco, Potsdam
Big Questions: Second Front, Special Missions

ONCE YOU SELECT A TOPIC, send me an e-mail and get a confirmation from me. I want to cover as many

You may work with only one other person, but EACH person must submit their own reflection/summary of the

SUMMARY REFLECTION
Explain in 300-500 words importance of your topic to the American war effort, and why you felt it was
important.
Consult at least three quality sources. List your source at the end of your summary.
