Welcome to Clwyd Theatr Cymru
This pack contains information about Clwyd Theatr Cymru and the locality. It
includes a guide to local accommodation. Please check that you have an up-to-date
edition (the date is at the top of this page). We have not inspected the
accommodation contained in this guide and make no recommendations. Please let us
know if the information here is inaccurate, so that we can correct it. We would also
be grateful to hear your comments about local accommodation – good or bad! In

How to get to Clwyd Theatr Cymru
By Rail:
Chester railway station is about 11 miles and Flint railway station 5 miles. Taxis are
available at either. There are frequent trains from London Euston, some are direct
but many change at Crewe. For further information – www.nationalrail.co.uk or call

By Car:
From London: M1 or M40, M6, M56 - follow signs for North Wales from the end of
M56. Follow signs for Mold - A494. After a short dual carriageway, go down hill
towards Mold, turn right at traffic lights and Clwyd Theatr Cymru is on the left
after about ½ mile. From Wrexham, A541: drive through Mold and follow signs for
Queensferry A494. Clwyd Theatr Cymru is on the left after about ½ mile. The
theatre is clearly signposted from Mold by brown ‘heritage’ signs.
Car Parking
We have our own large free covered car park at the front of the theatre. There
are spaces at the rear of the theatre for production staff and company vehicles.
Please observe the restricted parking arrangements at the front and rear of the
theatre.
Buses to Mold from Flint & Chester
There’s a bus stop outside the theatre, and buses run every 30 minutes from Flint
and approximately every 2 hours from Chester. There are frequent buses from

When you arrive:
Company Manager
Come to Reception and contact Pat Nelder (01352 701581) or the Technical Stage
Manager who will give all necessary assistance, including card keys for gaining
access to the building.
Company Members
Company Members should also come to Reception (NOT the Stage Door), where
they will be directed to backstage. Your Company Manager will have card keys
giving access to the building. Keep this card with you during your time at Clwyd
Theatr Cymru and return it when you leave.
Dressing Rooms and Security
We cannot be responsible for the security of any personal belongings, unless held
by Clwyd Theatr Cymru staff for safe keeping. You are advised to keep your
dressing room locked at all times. If you are issued with a dressing room key,

return it to your Company Manager at the end of every day. Please vacate dressing
rooms and backstage areas within 30 minutes of the end of the performance. You
may leave the theatre through Front of House after this time, but you will not be
able to return backstage, so please make sure you have all your belongings with you.
Pets and Animals
No animals (apart from Guide Dogs) are permitted on the premises.
Smoking
Clwyd Theatr Cymru is a non-smoking venue. The policy applies to the entire
building complex.
Redirecting post to Clwyd Theatr Cymru
Please make sure that any post arrives in good time for you to collect it by the end
of your stay here. Make sure that anyone who writes to you uses your full name,
the name of the production you’re working on, and addresses it to: Clwyd Theatr
Cymru, Mold, CH7 1YA. Your post will arrive in the pigeonholes in the
Administration corridor – ask a member of CTC staff to show you where they are.
CTC Company Members’ mail will be put in the Stage Management pigeonhole, while
Visiting Companies have a separate pigeonhole. CTC Stage Management, and/or
Visiting Company Stage Managers will check the pigeonholes once a day.
Phone calls to Clwyd Theatr Cymru
If someone phones you on the main Reception number 01352 756331 you can be
paged throughout the backstage and Front-of-House areas. No calls will be paged
after the half, or during a performance. Although company phones are not available
for private use, please talk to your Company Manager should you have need to use a
private phone. There are two public payphones, unfortunately they do not accept
BT phone cards or credit cards, one at the Stage Door and the other the ground
floor between the Foyer and the Clwyd Room.
Photocopying and Faxes
CTC and Visiting Company members may use the photocopier and fax machine
located on the Administration corridor, by arrangement with the Theatre Manager
(extension 1555). You will need to obtain a code from the finance department.
There will be a charge for this service.
Complimentary tickets for Clwyd Theatr Cymru shows
Clwyd Theatr Cymru company members and Visiting Company members have the
same entitlement to complimentary tickets for CTC shows as CTC staff. This is
usually two free tickets plus four at the lowest price, per person. There is no fixed
allowance for tickets on Visiting Company shows – check with Box Office.

The Tesco store in Mold is open 24 hours Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to
4pm Sunday. Go down the hill from the theatre and turn right towards the town of
Mold, turn left at the first roundabout – Tesco is on the next roundabout: third
exit.
Petrol stations and break-down services
A55 Recovery is a 24-hour breakdown recovery service about one mile north of the
theatre on the A5119 to Flint. Phone for further information - 01352 755461.
Bailey View Garage, Denbigh Road, Mold repair cars and can if necessary arrange
for collection of your vehicle during normal working hours. Phone for more
information - 01352 753280. There is a 24-hour petrol station at the Mold branch
of Tesco.

Eating in Mold
Y Caffi is on the ground floor within the theatre. CTC and visiting company
members are eligible for a 10% discount. Reasonably priced hot & cold meals are
available throughout the day. (Ext 1533).
The Green Room is backstage and serves a variety of hot & cold food, drinks &
snacks at very reasonable prices. Opening times vary according to rehearsal and
performance schedules, but are usually as follows: Mon to Fri 1100-1400 and 16301830; Sat 1200-1400 and 1630-1830. Call the Green Room on extension 1893 for
more details.
