Database of cruelty-free* cosmetics and domestic/cleaning products Dear company representatives Numerous surveys and studies indicate a continually growing consumer demand for cruelty-free cosmetics and domestic products. Many consumers are no longer willing to directly or indirectly support testing of such products on animals with their purchases. However, many marketing and labeling strategies make it very difficult to get an overview of the cruelty-free cosmetics and domestic products available in Switzerland without a great deal of effort. In order to provide consumers with a quick and easy overview of the available products, the «kosmetik-ohne-tierversuche.ch» project was launched at the end of 2009. AG STG is using this web portal to set up Switzerland's largest and most comprehensive database of cruelty-free cosmetics and domestic/cleaning products. The project is currently in the setup phase. The database/list will be published at http://kosmetik-ohne-tierversuche.ch and also delivered in printed form to the readership of "Albatros" magazine and other interested parties. Numerous partner organizations will also deliver the database/list via internet and in printed form. The website will not only provide a user-friendly lookup for the various products that are available via retail outlets but also deliver additional information about the testing of cosmetics and domestic products on animals. The cosmetics companies endorsed by AG STG have already been publicized in various media, e.g. the K-Tipp consumer magazine (circulation: 1'000'900), 28 November 2007 issue. Would you be interested in having your company included in the list? If so, complete the questionnaire below in full and return it to us. Thank you very much for your interest. Kind regards Valentina Rossel Send to: AG STG, Montalinweg 11, 7402 Bonaduz info@kosmetik-ohne-tierversuche.ch * We realize that the term "cruelty-free" is not strictly correct, because there are no cosmetics that have never been tested on animals. Every substance - including raw materials that have been safely used on humans for thousands of years - has at some time been tested on animals. That even applies to water. However, it is important to formulate criteria by which products can be considered to be cruelty-free. We can't change the past, but even today many animals still die horribly in animal experiments and will continue to do so in the future. So let's set an example, for today and for the future!
