1. DESCRIPTION
JAPANESE ADVANCED 2 – This is the seventh course of Japanese. In this course, students
systematically develop the patterns of expression needed in various situations commonly in daily
Japanese life. Especially, it is the main point to understand the concept of honorific, extra-modest and
humble expressions, and at the end of this course, successful students should be able to use those
expressions properly. What is more, the students learn more expressions that describe situations not
only objectively but also showing the mode.
2. METHODOLOGY
・Students will practice Japanese by activities that are done with visual aids of by means of pair works,
imagining the real situation.
・The grammar will be explained in English.
・As a preview, students have to check new vocabulary in each lesson in the text and read the
grammar explanation that is learned on the day in advance.
・As a preview, students have to do some pages from the workbook at home. Sometimes, handouts
are given by the instructor.
NOTE:
・Students have to try to speak in Japanese, using the words, expressions, and grammar already
learned all the time in class. It affects participation points.
