Narrative: A leading manufacturer of office furniture is hosting a contest in search of the ultimate cool multi media cart design. This cart will be marketed to teens worldwide. The designer of the winning entry will receive an all expense paid trip to Houston Texas complete with $300 Cougar 1 Card and five star luxury accommodations at Cullen Oaks Plaza. Design Statement: The office furniture company has set the following contest parameters below. Nonadherence to contest standards will result in disqualification. The cart should be designed around a specific theme that teens will readily recognize. Preliminary/working sketches must be included in the contest entry packet. Using your knowledge of Inventor, create a solid model, and orthographic drawing (with dimensions and parts list) of the cart. A design prototype should also be built using either balsa wood or foam core to a scale of _______. Contest Parameters: 1.) Must include a space for a CPU with minimum dimensions of 24”H x 8”W x 18” D. 2.) Additional space should be provided for a flat screen monitor and 2 other peripherals of your choice. 3.) Mobile cart should include some type of caster base. 4.) Design should be colorful and attractive to teens. 5.) Overall footprint of the design should not exceed 6’W x 3’D or a diameter of 4’.
