PUBLIC NOTICE
KMC’s CAMPAIGN AGAINST MISUSE OF RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES WITHOUT OBTAINING
APPROVAL/PERMISSION FROM MASTER PLAN DEPARTMENT-KMC
ON 22ND DECLARED COMMERCIAL ROADS
1.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has launched a campaign against the misuse of
Residential Plots/Properties for commercial purpose. The owners of all such properties are finally
informed/warned that misuse of these residential properties for commercial purpose is in
contravention of the allotment and lease conditions. Hence as per the Change of land Use Policy as
approved by the City District Council Karachi, vide Resolution No.383 dated 06.01.2004, the current
commercial use of such properties is illegal and unauthorized.

These violators have already been served with a 07 days Final Notice by Courier Services and are
hereby directed to stop the commercial activities on their residential premises forthwith and restore the
residential status as per the lease conditions set forth in the lease deed of the plots in question.
3.
They are advised to submit their application on prescribed “Z” Form (available in MPD-KMC and
KMC website www.karachicity.gov.pk) for change of land use from residential to Commercial as per the
City District Council Resolution No.383 dated 06.01.2004, to the Master Plan Department, KMC within
07 days.
4.
In case of failure for submission of application in this office regarding change of land use of the
said plots within 07 days hereof, levy of penalty/legal action shall be initiated as per Section 6-3 & 6-4, of
Change of Land use Policy as per Resolution No.383 dated 06.01.2004 and other statues governing the
said issue which may entail sealing of the properties and initiation of the legal process for the
cancellation of the lease.
5.
The following residential plots are being misused as commercial without obtaining permission
from Master Plan Department, KMC on 22 declared commercial roads, which have already been open
for change of land uses:
