Power Point: « A Trip to London»,
раздаточные карточки (кроссворд по теме «
Лондон» для самоконтроля), компьютер,
проектор, экран, доска, учебник.
ХОД УРОКА:
I. Организационный момент и приветствие.
Teacher: Good morning children! I am glad to see you. I
hope you are fine.
II. Объявление цели урока. Речевая разминка.
Teacher: Dear friends, we are going to have an unusual
lesson. We have read and spoken much about one of the
most beautiful cities of the world – London. We learnt a
lot of interesting information about its history and sights.

We have some guests who visited London and today we
shall have a virtual trip to London. At first you will tell
them what you know about this great city and then our
guests will share their impressions with us and you will be
able to ask them some questions.
But first, I want to ask you some questions about this city
and see what you know about it:
 What is London?
 Where is it situated?
 On what river does London stand?
 What sights of London do you know?
Teacher: Oh, I see a great church. What is
it? Yes, you are right. Will you tell us about
Westminster Abbey?

large and famous Anglican church in
Westminster, London. It is the shrine of
Edward the Confessor and the burial place
of many kings and queens. Since it was built
it has been the place where the coronations

of Kings and Queens of England have been
held. The present structure dates from 1245,
when it was started by Henry III.

recognizable bridges in the world. Its
Victorian Gothic style stems from a law that
forced the designers to create a structure that
would be in harmony with the nearby Tower
of London.

you must do ex.4 p.188 – answer the girl’s questions
about London and read aloud as quickly as possible the
words on the topic “Town Life. London” ( p.189 , ex.9)

London, is a Church of England cathedral
and seat of the Bishop of London. The
highest point in the City of London, and is
the mother church of the Diocese of
London. The present church dating from the
late 17th century was built to an English
Baroque design of Sir Christopher Wren.

crossword puzzle about London and check
how much we know about it. Look at the
crossword on the screen. Meanwhile I am
giving you out the cards with this
crossword. Read the questions to yourselves
and write in the answers. You have a few
minutes. You can use your textbooks to find
the answers and use your dictionaries. Start,
please.

Ярахмедов Муртуз:Trafalgar Square is a
public space and tourist attraction in central
London. At its center is Nelson's Column,
which is guarded by four lion statues at its
base. There are a number of statues and
sculptures in the square, with one plinth
displaying changing pieces of contemporary
art. The square is also used for political
demonstration and community gatherings.

What do you know about Big Ben?

the great bell of the clock at the north end of
the Palace of Westminster London,officially
named Elizabeth Tower, as well. Elizabeth
Tower holds the largest four-faced chiming
clock in the world and is the third-tallest
free-standing clock tower. It celebrated its
150th anniversary .The tower was

completed in 1858 and has become one of
the most prominent symbols of London.

London has played a prominent role in
English history. It was besieged several
times and controlling it has been important
to controlling the country. The Tower has
served variously as an armory, a treasury, a
menagerie, the home of the Royal Mint, a
public records office, and the home of the

Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom. From
the early 14th century until the reign of
Charles II, a procession would be led from
the Tower to Westminster Abbey on the
coronation of a monarch.
