Dear Parent/Carer,
Re: London Dungeons and the Tower of London Trip – FRIDAY 2ND OCTOBER 2015
Your child has been selected to take part in an educational trip to the London Dungeons and the Tower
of London, to help broaden their understanding of the crimes and punishments used in Britain
throughout history, a key focus of their GCSE exams. This is also a nice reward for their hard work and
effort this half term. This will provide an opportunity for further study of aspects of their ‘Crime and
Punishment’ module including examination of the prison system and punishment in the eighteenth
century.
The parental contribution for this trip will be £18 which includes entrance fees and tour of the
Tower of London. Please complete the attached slip and place it the “Trips Payments” box outside
the Main Office by Friday 25th September in a sealed envelope with the correct payment. The
envelope should be clearly marked with the following details:



Cash (correct money only, change will not be given) or cheque for £18 (Cheques should be
made payable to ‘Oaks Park High School’)

If you would like to pay using our new online system but have not yet registered for this service, please
email finance@oakspark.redbridge.sch.uk. Please do not forget to return the permission slip, should
you pay via this method.
The group will leave the school at 9.15am and return to school by approximately 3.30pm. We will be
travelling on London Underground and on foot. Students should bring a packed lunch. A packed lunch
will be provided for those students receiving free school meals if ordered from the office a week before
the trip. School uniform must be worn.
