Ⅰ. Summary
SZC- C type fat determination meter primarily is made up of three
parts that is electric heater, extraction and recovering solvent, cooling.
Adopting the closing configuration make instrument construction tight,
operation convenience, extraction speed quickly, shortened the analysis
time.
The instrument bases on the principle of soxhlet extraction and loss of
weight and controls automatically temperature by a airproof electric
heater that make instrument heat more even, the safe and dependable, and
possess seal completely facilities. It can determine 6 samples at the same
time, have no three kind of wastes leaked, choice the best temperature
according to a boiling point of reagent and environment temperature, so
that attain the purpose of fast analysis. Reagent can be also recovered and
reused, that reduces analyzing cost. It can complete to soak and extract
and recover reagent once. The instrument has the advantages of the
reasonable design, stability, good re-appear, the high accuracy and
operating convenience and saving energy, saving time. Therefore the
instrument is an ideal instrument to determine fat for each grease factory,
institute, university and college, Industry of food and animal feed...etc.
Ⅱ.Working principle
The instrument base on the principle of soxhlet extraction and loss
of weight to determine fat content which in the solvent dissolve fat ,
extract fat , make fat separate from the sample, and dry, weigh, compute
the fat content.
Ⅲ. Technique parameter
1. Measurement scope: Coarse fat content≥0.5% in food ,animal feed,
oil plants and every kind of grease products.
2. Test sample: 6 samples at the same time.
3. Measurement time: Depend on oil content in sample (see the table 1).
4. Repetition: Determine two parallel samples for Each sample, average
value in arithmetic as result.
When the fat content is≥10%, parallel difference value should be≤
0.3%.
When the fat content is∠10%, parallel difference value should be≤
0.5%.
5. Power supply: Electric voltage 220v±10﹪, frequency 50 Hz.
6. Power: 300W/500 W.
7. Heating time: about 10 min.
8. Recovery rate: ≥99% (120 drops/ min reflux speed, cooling water
temperature ≤30℃).
9. Temperature: Room temperature~100℃±1℃ (regulate arbitrarily).
Room temperature~300℃±2℃ (regulate arbitrarily).

Ⅳ. Usage elucidation
1. Apparatus
a. Fat determinator;
b. Analyze balance: min 0.0001 g;
a. Oven (Electrical heat thermostat);
b. Pulverizer or mortar for the laboratory;
c. The desiccator with the silicon of changing color.
d. Degreased cotton, jar, degreased voile and degreased thin line;
e. Filter paper cylinder: 24 mm diameter×50mm length ,degreased
disposal and two layers .
2. Reagent: ether absolute, AR.
3. Prepares for operation
a. The sample preparation :( Samples must be clean and dry and
uniformity. Take samples by quarter method).
(1) Corn: Remove the impurity of foodstuff and beans beside peanut, take
clean and dry sample 30-50g, grind it, pass throughφ1mm screen and
pour it into a jar.
(2) Granule oil plants i.e. gingili, rapeseed: Remove the impurity, take
clean and dry sample 20g, pour it into a jar.
(3) Grain oil plants i.e. peanut, castor-oil plant, sunflower seed: Remove
the impurity, take clean and dry sample 30-50g, rind, weigh the kernel
and the shell separately, calculate the percent of kernel, then slice
them up. Pour it into a jar.
b. Wash extraction cylinder (19) with hot water, remove any impurity, put
it into a oven for about 1 hour at temperature 105℃, take out it and
number, cool, weigh, put them into a desiccator.
c. Put the filter paper cylinder into a bracket of filter paper cylinder
(17).the top of filter paper cylinder is lower than the internal groove of
the bracket.
d. Connecting the water pipe (14) and the drain pipe (15), insure not to
seep in the system, check if power is 220V, connect electricity cable.
e. Turn on the switch, set up the temperature with the knob (20), warm up
for 15 minutes.
4. Operation
a. Samples:
(1) Directly weigh 2 g smashed sample for low grease foodstuff &feed
etc accurately to 0.0002 g. At first fill a layer of absorbent cotton on
the bottom of filter paper cylinder (17), put the sample into the inside
of the cylinder, cover it with absorbent cotton.
(2) Weigh 2g sample of the high fat oil. Pour it into a box and put it into a
oven at the temperature 105℃ for 30 minutes, pour into a mortar with
hot and grind it. After smash add some thin degrease sand (about 2g ),
grind them together until out the oil (Attention: The sample should be
oil & loosen but paste). Transfer them inside the filter paper cylinder,
using absorbent cotton with ether a little wipes the sample &fat on the
mortar, put the absorbent cotton into the filter paper cylinder, then
cover other absorbent cotton on the sample.
b. Move the sample into the instrument: Hold the lift handle (1) to
make speed node (6) lift to the appropriate position through the soft axe
and the top of the filter paper cylinder aims and attracts. Then press down
the lift handle, make the filter paper cylinder to appropriate position (do
not touch it when put into the extraction cylinder) and observe whether
the filter paper cylinder is in the center of congealed tube (2).
c. Take out a extraction cylinder from the desiccator, put it on the
bracket (18) and check the number and add about 50ml ether absolute
into the extraction cylinder, then hold the handle, move the extraction
cylinder on heating plank (moving 6 pcs at the same time), then uplift the
extraction cylinder using the bracket, make the top of the extraction
cylinder aim at the hole of the protection sheath, insure that the two flat
surface contacts are good, press down the pole(8) to makes tight hook (12)
lock hook seat (13). Then, revolve slightly the extraction cylinder to
insure that the two flat surface contacts are good.
d. Open the condenser tube faucet (3), revolve the faucet to make
handle direction perpendicularity in horizontal plane.
e. Hold the lift handle (1) to move up, decline the sample on the
bottom of the extraction cylinder, soak, set up temperature of control
temperature meter with adjusting knob at 50℃~60℃, according to
boiling point of solvent and indoor temperatures.
f. Soak sample appropriate time according to oil content (see
detailed table) from the solvent vaporized, lift the filter paper cylinder 5
cm, extract, extracting time sees the affixation table. Again lift the filter
paper cylinder to the tallest position, close completely the condenser tube
faucet at the same time, faucet handle position is parallel with horizontal
plane. Reclaim the solvent for about 15 min.
g. Close power supply (Attention: in order to insuring the safety,
before take sample in or out must close the power supply, cannot
breach operating rules). The left hand grasps pressing pole, undrawing
locked tightly hook, at the same time the right hand grasps the bracket
handle lift the bracket, making the congealed tube reply. using the bracket
take out extraction cylinder from heat plank, (after solvent vaporized
completely) and move it into oven , drying water for 45 min at 105℃
generally and move into a desiccator ,cool and weigh, compute content of
oil. It is best that content of oil attain constant weight, which drying,
cooling and weighing make the different value of weight for the last tow
times be less than 0.002 g.
h. Move filter paper cylinder to the appropriate position, take off the
filter paper cylinder, take out recovered solvent (generally dot not
continue to use recovered solvent), when recovery solvent will put a
container on lower part of congealed tube, container orifice aims at the
lower part of congealed tube, completely open faucet until solvent
congealed in the tube flowing overly. Take out the container having
recovered solvent and pour into a big container, so that recovered solvent
to the certain quantity will be refined together, make the recovered
solvent (ether) attain AR class and then use again.
i. When the first test is over, begin the second test from operation
order A.
j. Run over, close power supply, cut off the power supply, wipe and
clean it .it is best that the instrument is covered with slipcover.
k. Result calculation:
(a) The content of coarse fat for the wet or dry or standard water
impurity respectively is calculated with the formula (1), (2) and
(3).
(1) coarse fat (wet) %= W1÷W×100
(2) coarse fat (dry)%= W1÷[W×(100- M)]×100
(3) coarse fat (std.w.i)%= W1×(100- Ms)÷[W×(100- M)]×100
In equation :
W1 ——coarse fat weight, g;
W —— sample weight, g;
M ——humidity in sample percentage, %;
Ms ——sum of standard humidity and impurity in sample, %.
(b) If sample is oil plants with shell, coarse fat content respectively is
calculated by the formula (4) and (5):
(4) The coarse fat for oil plants with shell (wet)%= N×A÷100
(5) The coarse fat for oil plants with shell (dry)%= N×A÷(100- M)
In equation:
N ——The coarse fat content of the kernel in oil plants with shell
(wet), %;
A ——Kernel weight percentage in oil plants with shell, %;
M ——Water weight percentage in oil plants with shell, %.
The result difference value of the double experiments: Accord with
the provision in GB5512 and GB6433.

2. The panel button operation
Four buttons on the panel:
(1) SET button: When power is on pressing the button for 0.5
seconds enters state of initial value; pressing the button for 5 seconds
enters state of modifying the other parameter, whereas it return to the
normal run state and remember each parameter value.
(2) Button : Shift button for setting parameter value, combining with
▼button or▲button modifies each parameter.
(3) ▼button: Subtract enactment value key.
(4) ▲button: Add enactment value key.

Ⅺ. Statements
1. If customer obeys the rules to conveyance, save, install, adjust and
use for the instrument, discover that instrument doesn’t work normally
because of manufacturing quantity problem for a period of one year from
the date accepting the goods; or when open box discover that packing is
bad and so that damage it, accessories is not accordance with packing list,
missing parts etc., please contact my company quality section, and tell us

2. When this instrument is used, request the customer to run strictly
the instrument by the manual. If you ask the question or improve the
