Biome Flip Chart Project
You will create a 10-page flip chart summarizing biomes. This will be
your alternative assignment for the field trip. This project is worth 50
points—5 points for each page. It is due no later than Monday,
November 29, 2010.
Flip Chart Components:
1. Title Page
2. One page for each terrestrial biome including: Tundra, Taiga,
Temperate Forest, Desert, Temperate Grassland, Tropical
Rainforest
3. One page for each aquatic biome including: 1. Oceanic - Aphotic
, Photic, and Intertidal Zones, 2. Mix - Estuary, 3. Freshwater –
Lakes and Ponds, Rivers and Streams, and Wetlands
4. Terrestrial biomes must include: 1. Rainfall, 2. Temperature, 3.
Physical Features, 4. Type of Animals, 5. Types of Plants, and a
6. Picture of the general area, one plant, one animal, and one
abiotic feature.
5. Aquatic biomes must include: 1. Physical Features, 2. Type of
Animals, 3. Types of Plants, and a 4. Picture of the general area,
one plant, one animal, and one abiotic feature.
6. Other Requirements:
 You must have your name on the front.
 You must use a minimum of 5 colors on each page—white and
black are colors.
 You must have a heading or title for each page starting with page
two.
 You must be neat in handwriting and coloring.
 You need to create a flip chart that is clear; easy to use and
understandable.
