Internship Position Small Business Development Center of Ventura County Organization Overview: The Ventura County California Small Business Development Center provides one-stop assistance to individuals and small businesses by providing small businesses with access to management consulting, entreprener education, and other valuable resources. Small Business Development Centers are cooperative efforts of the private sector, the educational community, and federal, state, and local governments, assisting 1.3 million businesses through 950 Service Centers throughout the country. Internship Overview: Our Internships for college students provide real-world professional business experience can put you above the rest when you enter the job market. Our interns will assist in the launching of the newly enacted export initiative that is working in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Commerce, local congressmen, Port Hueneme, and the World Trade Centers. Work with exporters in the Ventura and Santa Barbara counties and expert trade consultants. Job Description: Assist with the launching of the countywide SBDC export initiative. This candidate will report directly to the SBDC Program Director and will have the opportunity to learn by hands on experience. Collaborate with Management team on new export initiative, projects and brainstorming sessions. Excellent opportunity that will provide entry-level experience in business, international trade, business processes, and exposure to a successful economic development program. Service and maintain client accounts. General administrative and operational duties. Interact with our clients in-person and over the phone. Qualifications: Pursuing BA/BS degrees.
