FISHERY AND AQUACULTURE PRODUCTS
Measure 1. Financial aid directed to building a marine aquaculture farms
Measure 2. Financial aid directed to establishing processing companies.

Measure 3. Aid for investments for construction, extension, equipment and
modernisation of businesses, in particular with a view to improving conditions
relating to hygiene, human or animal health and product quality, or reducing negative
impact on the environment.
Measure 4. Financial aid for investments, realised for the purpose of guaranteeing compliance
with the Community standards recently introduced on the environment, human or animal
health, hygiene or animal welfare, aid may be granted with a view to guaranteeing
compliance with those new standards only within the time limits set by Community
legislation.
Measure 5. Support for investments in diversification towards new species and production of
species with good market prospects ;
Measure 6. Encouraging the implementation of breeding methods substantially reducing
environmental impact when compared with normal practice in the fisheries sector ;
Measure 7. Support for traditional aquaculture activities important for preserving both the
economic and social fabric and the environment;
Measure 8. Measures related to aquaculture as improving working conditions and vocational
training;
Measure 9. Aid compensating for the use of aquaculture production methods helping to
protect the environment and conserve nature

AXIS 3: MEASURES OF COLLECTIVE INTEREST
Measure 1. Investments that contribute to better management or conservation of resources, or
to the transparency of markets in fishery and aquaculture products
Measure 2. Measures that involve collective investments in the development of breeding sites,
in waste treatment or in the purchase of production, processing or marketing equipment
Measure 3. Grant aid for measures promoting partnership between scientists and operators in
the fisheries sector.
Measure 4. The Fund may assist actions of collective interest intended to protect and develop
aquatic fauna, excluding direct restocking. The actions must contribute to enhancing
the aquatic environment
Measure 5. The Fund may support investments in fishing ports of interest to all the fishermen
using the port and helping to improve the services offered to the fishermen. The investments
shall relate to:
(a) improving the conditions under which fishery products are landed, processed
and stored in the ports ;
(b) the provision of fuel, ice, water and electricity ;
(c) fishing vessel maintenance and repair equipment ;
(d) improvement of quays in order to improve safety during the landing or loading
of products ;
(e) computerised management of fishing activities.
Measure 6. The Fund may support collective actions intended to implement a policy of quality

and value enhancement, promotion or development of new markets for fishery and
aquaculture products.
Measure 7. The investments shall relate to conducting national and transnational promotion
campaigns
Measure 8. The disposal of surplus or underexploited species which are discarded or of no
commercial interest
Measure 9. Implementation of a quality policy for fishery and aquaculture products
Measure 10. Promotion of products obtained using methods with low impact on the
environment ;
Measure 11. Quality certification
Measure 12. Labelling, including the labelling of products caught using environmentally
friendly fishing methods
Measure 13. Product promotion campaigns or campaigns to improve the image of the
fisheries sector
Measure 14. Implementation of market surveys
Measure 15. The Fund may support pilot projects aimed at acquiring and disseminating new
technical knowledge. The pilot projects should test, under near-actual conditions in the
production sector, the technical or
financial viability of an innovative technology with the aim of acquiring and
disseminating technical or financial knowledge of the technology tested ; they should
enable tests to be carried out on management plans and fishing effort allocation
plans, including, if necessary, the establishment of no-fishing zones, in order to
evaluate the biological and financial consequences, and experimental
restocking. A pilot project shall always include adequate scientific follow-up in order to yield
significant results.
Measure 16. The Fund may support the modification of fishing vessels for exclusively
training or research purposes in the fisheries sector by public or semi-public bodies.
Measure 17. Encouraging the development of breeding sites of the main marine aquaculture,
in order to lay down the preconditions to the investors for development of marine farming
Measure 18. Support companies’ actions to introduce typing, norming and labeling of the fish
and aquaculture products.
