RECRUITMENT NOTICE FOR
RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF SEPOY
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Sepoy (General Central
Service Group ‘D’ Non-Gaztt., Non- Min.) in the pay scale of Rs.2610-60-2910-65-3300-70-
4000. The selected candidates are liable to be posted/transferred anywhere in the state of
Tamilnadu and Puducherry. The details of the vacancies are as follows :

2. The Age limit, Educational qualifications and Physical standards prescribed for the post are given below :
Age-limit : 18-27 years as on 01.01.2008 (Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST
and 3 yrs. for OBC candidates)
Educational Qualification : Middle Standard pass ( VIII Std.) from recognized school.
Physical Standards : Candidates will be required to possess the Physical standards
and pass physical test as specified below :
For Male Candidates : Physical Standard (Minimum):
Height – 157.5 cms.( relaxable by 5 cms. for ST candidates)
Chest – 81 cms. (fully expanded with minimum expansion of 5 cms.)
Physical Test : Walking – 1600 meters in 15 mins; Cycling – 8 kms. in 30 mins.
For Female Candidates : Physical Standard (Minimum):
Height – 152 cms., Weight : 48 kgs.
(Height relaxable by 2.5 cms and weight by 2 kgs for ST candidates)
Physical Test : Walking – 1 km in 20 mins.; Cycling – 3 kms. in 25 mins.
Note : (1) Physically Handicapped persons are not eligible for the post.
(2) Preference will be given to candidates knowing local language.
