Course Syllabus
Course Name: Anatomy
Instructor: Mrs. Steel & Mrs. Joseph
Course Description: Anatomy will be a very brief overview of a regular year long class. Topics to be touched on include: organization, skeletal system, muscular system, circulatory system, digestive system, respiratory system, and reproductive system. Although not all systems are covered, the cones chosen are of major importance in a full length Anatomy class.
Course Objectives:
The students will be able to:
1.
maintain a portfolio with daily assignments and completed work
2.
pass a lab safety test with a minimum of 95%
3.
describe how the human body is organized
4.
briefly explain the structure & function of each system covered
5.
recall name and location of various organs in the human body
6.
make oral presentations on current science events
Expectations of Students:
1.
Be prepared-bring all necessary materials to class
2.
Keep up with all assignments and complete all assignments
3.
Prepare and present weekly oral presentations on topics assigned
Student Evaluation:
1.
Quizzes & Tests = 50%
2.
Labs = 25%
3.
Daily Assignments & Homework = 20%
4.
Portfolio Work Completed = 5%
