Emergency Drills: Review fire, earthquake, and drop-cover drill procedures with your students in the classroom. It’s important for students to be familiar with procedures in the event of a true emergency. Drop drills should be held monthly. Fire Alarm Upgrade Project: Monday, September 15th is the start date for the fire alarm project. The existing alarm system will remain functional until the new system is installed, tested and certified. This will be similar to the wireless project where a team of contractors will set-up a jobsite trailer at the North end of the playground area for the next few months. The contractors will be working on campus/classrooms after dismissal from 2:45-10:30pm. Contractors will ensure that all rooms are cleaned up and prepared for the next instructional day. If there are any problems throughout the project, please contact Marshall or myself. Group Counseling Gr. 3-5: Dana Weinstein, our new Pupil Services & Attendance Counselor, will offer group counseling services by referral only. Services will be offered to general education students who need support with social skills, developing empathy, and learning conflict resolution skills. Keynote speaker is Dr. Pedro Noguera, author and professor whose research focuses on social/economic conditions, school reform, & conditions that promote student achievement.
